Summary

Before I summarize my thoughts about this program I want to say thank you to my fellow co-workers that helped me in the last couple of the assignments. Some times you need a little encouragment to push you along the finishing line.

This program has been a blessing from above because I did want to become somewhat tech savvy but I didn't know where to start or who to ask for help. When the Library discussed Learning 2.0 I was in it to win it. But, I did get side track half way but I was able to get on track again. Some of the assignments were easy like creating a blog page but what became harder for me was filling the blog page with RSS feeds, downloading a video from Youtube, adding a picture, and of course posting thoughts. The thing with learning 2.0 is that we have to keep up with it or else we will forget about all the applications we learned. I do remember and article about web. 3D and library 4.0 and how it is the next step to learning 2.0 I know can help customers that what to know how to download a picture to their myspace page for even blog page. I enjoy this learning activity and hope we can learning web. 3D and library 4.0 when it becomes available.

audiobooks

I looked at all three sites and for some reason this is a little harder to do then I thought. I will keep trying I will not give-up.

podcast

I do have an ipod and I do listen to podcast they're wonderful tools and it is so amazing how much technology has come about since I graduated from college.

Youtube

I like this video because it remains me that I do refer to the manuel when everything else goes wrong especially if it's the computer!

Web 2.0 awards

I have my regular sites that I visit when I am looking for travel and video information, such as travelocity.com and youtube.com but I have to say that I found great new sites. I definately like Kayak.com I did hear about the site but never clicked on the site. I is easy to navagate and doesn't take long to search for a flight or find an airport. Dailymotion.com a video search site that is better organized. When searching for events in Hartford I tend to look at the newspaper or community flyers, but eventful.com does it for you, it has a list of local events such as festivals and shows the number of them in your town, it's great. Lulu.com is a publishing site that allows you to create books, calenders, etc. you can design you cover for your book and pictures and more. Try it out everyone!

Zoho Writer

This is obviously a great tool for anyone, I think it's a little better then microsoft word. I will recommend this tool site to artist not just writers, it a lot of fun.

Wiki

I did not know what wiki was until in dawned on me that it was wikipedia (duh).

Thoughts on Library 2.0 and Web 2.0 and the future of libraries

I read three of the articles: "Into the new world of librarianship" and "To more powerful ways to cooperate", talks about the relationships of libraries with people as a place for emotional and engaging center of learning in which I agree highly with; there is a connection to people and the community. I also, like the way the articles spoke to libraries who engage in library 2.0 as adding value to better serve the public. Unfortunately, in the article "A temporary place in time", the libraries have become digital and the idea that libraries are a part of a community is no so anymore. This is because the libraries are becoming a digital downloads for people. Some people don't read anymore rather they listen to their books on CDs or download a book to an ipod. As the technology advances Library 3.0 is more like a web 3D and sooner or later Library 4.0 will be a library of meditation and relaxation, does this mean librarians don't have to deal with rude customers or that we won't have jobs anymore????

Del.icio.us

I did something I should have not but I was fallowing the instructions. I did sign-up and download Del.icio.us but when I did that, yahoo became the main page to my computer when I click to the internet. Del.icio.us is a great site for building a collection of things to read and for working on a research paper. I added to the yahoo toobar apart from Del.icio.us, movies, news, and weather. Let's see what happens next.

Search tool

Uh...well...O.K. I do have rollyo on my blog page but I think I missed a step because I type in travel for example and I don't seem to get any sites regarding it. I think I need to work on it some more but it's on my blog but no use to anyone not even myself.

LibraryThing

I like this site! But there are many steps to it, I have to make notes right now before I forget!

Image Generator

I was on a long vacation from Learning 2.0 but now I am back. I literally took the assigment of play week. I did play around with image generator and I found out anyone a create funny, cute, crazy and amazing images. Alright! I will continue to work on Learning 2.0 and this time I will work much harder and won't take a mini-vacation.

I learned how to put a RSS feed into my blog

My favorite feed for celebrity gossip-I love to read about the life I don't have (hehehe) and ofcourse learn about the latest fashions ins and outs. Check-out my favorite feed for the lastest celebrity gossip, it also has celebrity quizes, photos, etc. to keep you up to date about your favorite celebrity.

Technology

Well, Flickr was a little tough for me but I never gave up and that's how I see technology; it is hard but never give up because once you get it, it's a great feeling of accomplishment and now I feel a little bit cooler.....

-It never seems to amaze me how diligently my grandmother works on the fields of the Andes Mountains; nothing is ever too hard or too difficult for her.

My thoughts on 71/2 habits

Interesting...the hardest habit for me is creating my own learning tool box and using it in my daily routines and the easiest habit is to play (hehehe).

I created a blogger

It was easy to create a blog account but I suspect it will get harder was we go!!!
